About Transitions DMV

Shreta Coleman is the founder and CEO of Transitions DMV, where she seamlessly integrates her extensive experience in education and business to empower college-educated women as they transition into their careers and embrace independence. A proud native of Maryland, Shreta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Education Administration. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Rosa L. Parks Elementary School in Hyattsville, MD, and is actively involved as a board member of the Wake Robin Golf Club, as well as a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

With over 20 years of experience in the education sector, Shreta’s expertise spans from elementary through college and professional levels. She possesses a remarkable ability to assess and support both students and professionals. Her leadership and nurturing instincts are widely recognized and celebrated by her colleagues and community.

Recognizing the challenges many college graduates—particularly young women—face when transitioning from academia to the professional world, Shreta was inspired by her own daughter’s questions about navigating this pivotal moment. This realization led her to establish Transitions DMV in 2020, driven by the mission to empower these women with essential resources and support as they embark on their career journeys.
